Today's digital cameras and camcorders are extremely light sensitive - Bright images can be achieved in even dimly illuminated environments, therefore, today we can at last light purely for aesthetic effect as opposed to lighting mainly to achieve a level of illumination in which the camera can deliver fully exposed images - So what does this mean? It means that we no longer need to use massive and powerful 'key' lamps in every situation. Instead we can travel lighter, equipped with smaller and more versatile lights such as dedolights which allow us to delicately and precisely paint our pictures with light!
We can utilise the ambient (natural) light as our main source and use our own artificial lights to add depth and effects.
The dedolight system is in our opinion the best quality and most versatile compact 'hard' lighting system that money can buy - No other system features dedolight's unique optics which allow the beam to be focused so accurately that you can project crystal clear gobo shadows onto your subject.
Because dedolights are 12v / 24v volt they can also be used as camera lights, powering directly from the camera battery or a battery belt - We even supply a great soft-box for the dedolight which helps a dedolight to deliver a beautiful soft light - perfect as a camera-top fill.
Furthermore, because dedolights are so compact a complete 4 head kit with dimmers and stands fits into a small soft carry case. Perfect for cameramen and DOP's who are on the move!

The light head of the Dedolight system is extremely compact. With its dual-lens Aspherics2 optical system it provides astounding light output. With a 100W lamp in flood position, its light output is greater than a 300W Fresnel studio fixture. In spot position, its output equals or exceeds a 1000W Fresnel studio fixture. When used with 150W lamps, the output in flood is over twice as bright as its predecessor and in spot is over three times brighter.
The DLH4 offers a wide range of powering options - from battery to AC power with color temperature control. A manually adjusted indicator on the rear cover displays whether the installed bulb is 12V or 24V. The inexpensive lamps provide exceptional economy, coupled with astounding life expectancy.
The purchase price of a dedolight head is similar to a 300W fresnel head. However, as every lighting professional knows, the major expense of a lighting system is not the purchase price but the operating costs. It is here that dedolight's advanced technology clearly pays off, cutting operating costs between 90 percent and 99%. Over time, the dedolight system pays for itself many times over.
The lamps used in the dedolight system cost about one-fifth as much as those in lights with comparable output.
The 12V lamps last eight to twenty times as long. That's the difference between buying a new lamp once every week and buying one every two to five months.
dedolight lamps are virtually indestructible, unharmed by the shocks, knocks and vibration that regularly blow standard halogen lamps.
Dedolight systems consume as little as one-sixth the electricity used by conventional lights and the system's low wattage almost never blows a fuse.
How long does it take for a dedolight system to pay for itself? If you replace an existing light with a dedolight head, the cost will be offset in about 20 months depending on frequency of use. If you buy a dedolight head instead of adding another 300 Watt fresnel to your collection, the purchase cost may be offset in just a few months.
The light head of the dedolight system is extremely compact yet - with its dual-lens concept - provide astounding light output. With a 100W lamp in flood position, its light output is greater than a 300W fresnel studio fixture. In spot position, its output equals or exceeds a 1000W fresnel studio fixture.
The DLH2 offers a wide range of powering options - from battery to AC power with color temperature control. A manually adjusted indicator on the rear cover displays whether the installed bulb is 12V or 24V. The inexpensive lamps provide exceptional economy, coupled with astounding life expectancy.
