With a few relatively simple modifications, I think AutoCue I-Pad Pro Teleprompter could elevate from a good bit of kit to an EXCELLENT piece of kit... It is well packaged for delivery... no complaints there. Putting it together for the first time is a bit of an adventure but the two major drawbacks soon become apparent. First, no protective case. Not even for the glass. Not good at all. Second, there is nothing to say which way around the glass should be fitted... there is a wee green adhesive dot on one side of the glass but should that face the camera or the presenter? Presenter I guessed... and that seemed correct. Staying with the glass, the manner it is secured into the frame needs work to improve. there is a VERY thin foam strip around the hinged frame and the glass fits within its boundary. OK as far as it goes but as you lift up the frame to secure it into the hood, the glass easily slips down. It is VERY easy not to spot the glass has shifted... so you may not spot the glass has pinched between the hinged border of the frame and the hood... That would explain why I could see small shards of glass when I opened the frame to pack the AutoCue away. This was solved with replacing the miserly strip of foam with a slightly thick one that is thick enough to stop the glass from shifting. A smaller niggle was the fabric snoot that fits between the rear of the hood and the camera. it is VAST! So big that the pull-chord is unable to shrink one end down far enough to fit snuggly about the lens. Fortunately some time with a sowing machine will sort that one. The final niggle was the tray that holds the IPad. I don't know about you but spend £700 on an IPad pro and you are going to have a protective case for it. Well, it won't fit into the AutoCue tray so I take the case off the IPad and even then, I am not sure it would fit. I was not prepared to try. All that said, once these issues were understood and 'workarounds' figured out, it is an excellent piece of kit. It took a while to find the right combination of apps ('Duet' for Mac and IPad and ScriptQ5) to make the setup REALLY work well but now, I am very pleased with it. In summary, it would be great if AutoCue: 1) Provided a protective case for the glass at the least 2) revisited the manner in which the glass is held by the hood 3) redesigned the fabric hood.
