100cm On-Shot Stroke
An extended height range can not only compensate for set restrictions, but also allow greater creativity of shots. With the Quattro pedestal design Vinten became the first manufacturer to offer an on-shot stroke of 100cm / 39.4 inch. This class-leading range of pedestals will lower to around 50cm / 20 inch and rise to around 150cm / 59 inch, enabling the operator to keep the talent perfectly in shot, whatever their position.
Crab and Steer Facility
Crab and steer functionality is the optimum solution for on-shot movement and general positioning of pedestals. In crab mode all three wheels are interlinked to steer simultaneously and the pedestal travels in the direction of the steering indicator on the steering ring. This allows the operator to easily follow the action on-shot, tracking in and out and crabbing from side to side with minimal effort. Steer mode locks the position of two wheels and then the third wheel turns as the steering ring is rotated. This enables the operator to set the pedestal position prior to a shoot, or to negotiate awkward obstacles.
Fully Skirted Base
Fully skirted bases are ideal for studio environments, where items such as cables and scenery could potentially interfere with the wheels of the pedestal. The height of the base can be raised when the pedestal is moved out of the studio, and lowered on to the ground to park the pedestal. Pedestals for Outside Broadcasts do not feature fully skirted bases because they require extra ground clearance.
Vinten pan and tilt heads and pedestals are the professional's choice because thanks to Vinten's unique Perfect Balance technology the support they provide is effortless - allowing you to focus on the perfect shot for longer.
