Canon KJ20X8.2B Lens:
The KJ20x8.2B is portable 2/3” HD telephoto lens is specifically designed to support low-cost image acquisition systems for a wide range of applications and users, from broadcast ENG to professional freelance HD shooters.
At 8.2mm, the KJ20x8.2B is Canon’s widest lens in the affordable 20x zoom class, and it covers a generous range of focal lengths, particularly when combined with its built-in 2x extender expanding its 8.2mm-164mm focal length to 16.4mm-328mm. MOD is 0.9M and the lens also comes equipped with a macro to allow closer subjects up to 10mm from the front of lens, it also has strong rugged build qualities.
The servomotor has a noise-suppressing construction to ensure there is no corresponding increase in noise. On the newly developed advanced drive unit, the Memo switch, which sets specific zoom positions for the Shuttle Shot function, has been changed to a push switch. The memo switch enables more reliable Shuttle Shot setup in the field where more consistent functioning of the controls is required. The outstanding optical performance of Canon’s new KJ20x8.2B portable HD lens is the result of the company’s world-leading design tools, including cutting edge optical simulation and 3D design technologies, novel optical glass materials and coatings and extraordinary dispersion glass.
Together, these technologies and materials have produced an outstanding combination of cost-effectiveness and performance in the KJ20x8.2B. The lens has minimised axial and lateral chromatic aberrations, coma aberrations and geometric distortion. The new optical materials and multi-layer optical coatings used in the lens effectively lessen the ghosting, flare and veiling glare that might be stimulated by strong light sources - sun in the daytime and car headlights at night time.
The KJ20x8.2B also has a high MTF (modulation transfer function) at the picture centre that is well controlled right out to the picture extremities. This high MTF is sustained even when focal length and object distance are being adjusted. The KJ20x8.2B ’s optical performance is well-balanced for both near and distant subjects, and its rendering of distant subjects at wide angles – frequently needed for landscape and cityscape shots – surpasses previously available lenses in this price range.
Large Full HD 1920 x 1080 7-inch LCD panel ideal for 4K live production in operation with Sony studio cameras, XDCAM camcorders, F65 and PMW-F55. The HDVF-L750 Full HD 7-inch LCD viewfinder is usable with the whole range of Sony studio cameras, XDCAM camcorders (with supplied VF cable and V-shoe adaptor), F65 and PMW series camcorders such as the PMW-F55 and PMW-F5 in 4K and HD live production configurations. The 1920 x 1080 LCD panel allows for more precise focusing, with a very high 1000:1 contrast ratio and WFM (waveform monitor) function for very precise exposure control. A 3G-SDI input connector adds flexibility for viewing external sources apart from the camera signal, while two assignable switches on the bezel allow for bespoke setups. The viewfinder also has a simple hood to help minimise glare.

Incorporating three 2/3-inch Exmor CMOS sensors, the HXC-FB80 offers stunning full-HD picture quality and sensitivity of F13 in 50 Hz and F12 in 59.94 Hz at 1080 mode with a signal-to-noise ratio of -60 dB. These features enhance shooting in a low light environment.
3G-SDI Platform Capable of 1080/50p and 59.94p
The camera head can comfortably output 3G-SDI signals including 1080/50p and 59.94p. The new processor can also support 1080/23.98 PsF on top of 25 PsF and 29.97 PsF.
Future-Proof 4K Upscalable and HD HDR Support with CCU
Combined with the HXCU-FB80 CCU, this camera’s output is 4K upscalable and yet HD HDR-capable supporting HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma).
In addition to hardware-based remote control units, PC software-based HZC-RCP5 Remote Control is also available.
MCS (Multi Camera System) capabilities
The HXCU-FB80 CCU provides support for up to 24 units, forming a complete MCS system.
Long Cable Extension and Choice of Fibre Interface
Using a hybrid cable with a power supply, the distance between the camera head and CCU can be extended up to 600 m. In case of the combination with HXC-P70, it can extend up to 1,000 m. In addition to the Neutrik connector interface, a LEMO connector interface is also available for the camera head and CCU. In the case of connection with a single-mode fibre cable (SMF), transmission can extend up to 10km using a local power supply.
Wide range of image control functions
The system camera is full of creative image control functions such as MultiMatrix, Skin Tone Detail, Low Key Saturation, Knee Saturation, and Auto Lens Aberration Compensation (ALAC).
ND Filter by Servo Motor
Along with an electrical CC filter, the ND filter can be remotely controlled either by external RCP/RM or via the CCU because of the newly adopted filter servo motor in the camera head.
HD Video Trunk and HD Prompter
In addition to the camera captured 1080 50i/59.94i video signal, another video signal can be passed through the same fibre connection line to the CCU side because of the 3G-SDI platform. Further to the traditional analogue composite prompter support, the HD-SDI signal can be supplied from the CCU side.
