Overview
The world’s first compact system camera to feature 4K video recording, the Panasonic GH4 has an impressive 16.05 Megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor built for high sensitivity and fast response. The 50% faster signal readout suppresses the undesirable “rolling shutter” effect even when using the electronic shutter. Focusing is fast and efficient, thanks to high precision Contrast AF combined with DFD (Depth from Defocus) technology, giving focus speeds as quick as 0.07 seconds. The Lumix GH4 uses a 49-point array for superb accuracy, and has Face/ Eye Detection AF and focus peaking.
The newly developed generation of Venus Engine processor for this camera has a Quad Core CPU for high speed signal processing that is needed for 4K recording. In addition this makes the camera  capable of Full HD recording with a bit rate of 200 Mbps (all Intra-frame) or 100Mbps (IPB). Choose video formats from MOV, MP4,...

About the Panasonic DMC-GH4 Body

Choose video formats from MOV, MP4, AVCHD and AVCHD Progressive - at a variety of frame rates, plus there is easy frequency switching between 59.94Hz (23.98Hz) / 50.00Hz / 24.00Hz for international use. The high speed processor also allows the on-camera retouching of images in RAW format and a burst frame rate of 12fps.

For professional video monitoring applications, the image output from the GH4 can be exported to an external device such as an external monitor, using an optional micro HDMI cable, and monitored at the same time as footage being recorded on the camera. Image output is 4:2:2 / 8bit or 4:2:2 / 10bit.

Video features are many, including VFR (Variable Frame Rate) and Time Lapse / Stop Animation without post production so you can be creative before you transfer your content to other media. Other professional video functions include Zebra, Master Pedestal (black-based contrast control), Cinelike Gamma, Synchro Scan (anti-fluorescent flicker), Centre Marker, Colour Bars, 1k test tone and SMPTE-compliant Time Code. For capturing crucial moments on still photos out of video footage 4K Photo Mode creates 8-megapixel snapshots with a choice of 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9 aspect ratios, each image having EXIF information attached

The GH4 has twin image displays, both high speed OLED  - a 2359K-dot (LVF Live View Finder) and a 1036K-dot monitor. The contrast ratio of the LVF is 10,000:1 for super-accurate colour reproduction and true blacks.

Construction of the DMC-GH4 consists of a magnesium alloy die cast front and rear frame, with sealed joints, dials and buttons for protection against the weather and dust. The shutter is also designed for longevity, for up to 200,000 operations.

Includes IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity with NFC (Near Field Communication) Technology.

I would like to know if this new GH4 camera will be able, with the help of an adapter, to mount Canon EF lenses.

Luigi 09-04-2014

Yes, use this:-http://cvp.com/index.php?t=product/redrock_micro_8-090-0001orhttp://cvp.com/index.php?t=product/mtf_mtcanefm43sss

Hi I have preordered the GH4, when can we buyers expect it? thanks.

Mr Andrew Chesterman 08-05-2014

We are expecting to receive our first stock on 12th May but we don't yet know how many we're going to receive in this first shipment - hopefully enough to fill all preorders. In any event, all preorders will be fulfilled in strict rotation.

Hi, I've had look at the adapters listed that will allow Canon lenses to be used, will these also allow us to change our F stop on the adapter or the lens? And do either of them change the crop factor to make it similar to a 35mm camera?

Greg 13-05-2014

You would need the RedRock LiveLens MFT Active Lens Mount to achieve F Stop control. There isn't currently ( May 14 ) an adapter available that will improve the angle of view / imaging circle.sss

What is the continuous recording limit for gh4?

Stefan 05-06-2014

EU models are restricted to 30 minutes
