The first Sony G Lens created specifically for E-mount cameras, the SELP18105G combines refined imaging quality with a smooth, silent power zoom. A constant F4 aperture means you can get closer without sacrificing detail, even in low light.
Power zoom for professional results
Shooting video? The power zoom uses Handycam® technology to produce smooth zoom effects that are difficult to achieve manually. It's silent too, so you won't spook your subjects, while the built-in zoom lever lets you maintain a consistent zoom speed.
See the difference with G Lens
Renowned for their descriptive power, G Series lenses maintain excellent peripheral light characteristics and maximum contrast even at the edges of the frame.
Capture smooth, blur-free images
Built-in Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilisation within the lens ensures smooth, blur-free photos and videos when shooting handheld.
Instead of a standard polygon-shaped lens aperture, this lens features a 7-blade circular aperture for more natural, rounded defocusing or ‘bokeh’.
Refined optical performance
Aspherical lens elements minimise distortion while ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements provide superior contrast, resolution, and colour fidelity.
Fast, agile focusing
An internal focusing mechanism means the length of the lens remains constant, enabling easy handling, fast autofocusing, and a short minimum focusing distance. In addition, the filter thread at the front of the lens does not rotate – an asset when using a polarizing filter.

High performance E-mount G Lens
The lens combines two ED glass elements to deliver high contrast, high resolution imaging across the entire focal range. The circular aperture design and distortion / colour aberration control at the wide and telephoto ends of the zoom range also enhance creativity, opening up a world of expressive imaging options.
SteadyShot image stabilisation
Built-in SteadyShot technology keeps yours image stable even when your hands aren't. By compensating for the minor hand motions that can cause blurring and distortion, SteadyShot ensures brilliant photographic results - even in challenging low-light conditions. Switch to SteadyShot Active mode for sharp, blur-free movie shooting.
Floating axis technology
By utilising the same 'floating axis' technology found in our Handycam® range, the lens is able to acheive exceptionally smooth, quiet focus and zooming across the entire focal length. In addition, the lens remains the same while focusing or zooming, enhancing ease of use.
Constant F4 aperture
With the ability to shoot at a constant F4 aperture across the entire 27mm to 157.5mm focal length, you'll be able to get closer to the action without sacrificing detail. At full zoom, you'll be able to lower your ISO setting and increase your shutter speed for crisp, no noise shots.
Smooth, controlled zooming
The on-lens zoom lever - similar to those found on our Handycam range - puts you ub full control of your image - choose between fixed-speed power zooming, or the variable, stepless setting for enhanced control and creative freedom. The lever's convenient location means it can be used while maintaining a firm grip on the camera body, so you won't have to worry about motion blur affecting your images.
Dedicated low-light settings
The Anti Motion Blur and Handheld Twilight modes make it easy to shoot clear, blur-free, low-noise images in settings that would usually be challenging. From the great outdoors to low-light interior surroundings, you'll get a great shot without having to boost your ISO settings.
