Price Pledge ensures we won't be beaten on price! We actively monitor the prices offered by our competitors daily and adjust our own pricing accordingly.
The prices shown are an estimate based on the purchase of a single item with nothing else in your basket. The prices and options do not include shipping regulations and duties which will be checked in the checkout process.
At CVP we always strive to get your order to you as quickly as possible, but in the interest of clarity please note that next day is defined as the next working day (ie: excluding weekends, UK bank holidays and public holidays).
Orders placed and security cleared before 14:00GMT where all items are in stock will normally be dispatched on the same business day for ultimate delivery according to the shipping method selected.
Where an item is not physically in stock, the actual delivery time will be extended by the lead time for the product in question. Shipping to the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and some remote UK postcodes are not next day but 2 working days.
All transactions are subject to CVP security checks which are for our mutual protection against identity theft and fraud. In the event that additional checks are required you will be informed and dispatch time will be extended by the time taken to resolve any queries raised. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
*Due to unforseen circumstances, on some occasions same day dispatch may not be possible. In this event we will always do our utmost to keep you fully informed of any delay imposed.
The Metabones EF-E-BM4 Adapter will allow you to mount Canon EF fitting lenses onto a Sony NEX camera body, preserving electronic aperture, EXIF, image stabilisation and AF on compatible models.
The adapter is powered by the camera body, so external power is required. It also has a detachable foot compatible with ball heads by makes such as Arca Swiss, Markins and Photo cam. As a useful addition, the adapter has the reverse of a depth-of-field preview function which opens the aperture fully, allowing for easy focusing. Improvements of the Mark IV version over its predecessor the EF-E-BM3 include a larger inner hole allowing for greater tilt and shift flexibility as well as improved dulling of the black inner surfaces to counteract internal reflections.
Please refer to the Specifications tab for a list of compatible lenses and cameras.
Autofocus is supported, with the following known limitations.
Since their inception, Metabones have been designing and manufacturing lens adapters recognized among professionals and enthusiasts as leaders in design and workmanship.
Contrary to the popular trend of other factories using an aluminum ring painted black on the camera-body-side, Metabones instead take no short-cut but use precision-machined brass with chromium plating on both the camera-body and the lens sides of their adapters, in order to ensure smooth mounting, great appearance, and durability. The lens side of the adapter features a strong leaf-spring structure, strengthening the adapter-lens connection and ensuring tightness of the lens in order to reduce wear and prevent focus errors and optical alignment issues from appearing.
Metabones use matte-black treatment to keep internal reflection to a minimum in order to maintain the maximum optical quality possible with the lens.
All Metabones Adapters follow this tradition of uncompromising precision, robust build quality and outstanding finish. The new Smart AdapterTM series of products add industry-leading electronic interfacing technology from Canada, with true electronic control of the lens' aperture directly from the camera body.
Smart AdapterTM series adapters have the following additional features
EF lenses (see below for list of tested lenses)
EF-S lenses (see note 1)
Image stabilization (IS)
Electronic manual focusing (e.g. EF 85/1.2L II and discontinued EF 50/1.0L)
EXIF (focal length, aperture, zoom range)
P, A, S, M exposure modes
Autofocus (see autofocus support section below)
Distance and zoom display on VG and FS series camcorders (see note 3)
Auto magnify (see note 2)
Contax N mount lenses modified to Canon EF by Conurus
Contax 645 NAM-1 adapter modified to Canon EF by Conurus
Sigma, Tamron and Tokina lenses in Canon EF mount (see note 3)
Lens correction such as peripheral shading, CA and distortion
Focus confirmation "chip" (e.g. Dandelion)
Stacking another lens mount adapter on top (see note 4)
|Notes||Vignetting at corners may occur for certain EF-S lenses because they are designed to cover a 1.6x crop image circle but Sony NEX has a 1.5x crop sensor.|
Requires lenses supporting distance information.
A third party zoom lens may need to be registered with the Smart Adapter first in order to detect its maximum aperture. Autofocus is disabled for most third-party lenses.
For example, some improperly-made M42 screw mount adapters may cause a short-circuit with the electronic contacts of the Smart Adapter and cause damage to the Smart Adapter and/or camera body.
