At CVP we always strive to get your order to you as quickly as possible, but in the interest of clarity please note that next day is defined as the next working day (ie: excluding weekends, UK bank holidays and public holidays).
Orders placed and security cleared before 14:00GMT where all items are in stock will normally be dispatched on the same business day for ultimate delivery according to the shipping method selected.
Where an item is not physically in stock, the actual delivery time will be extended by the lead time for the product in question. Shipping to the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and some remote UK postcodes are not next day but 2 working days.
All transactions are subject to CVP security checks which are for our mutual protection against identity theft and fraud. In the event that additional checks are required you will be informed and dispatch time will be extended by the time taken to resolve any queries raised. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
*Due to unforseen circumstances, on some occasions same day dispatch may not be possible. In this event we will always do our utmost to keep you fully informed of any delay imposed.
The Boom-Buddy is designed to fit most popular booms and the cradle sizes are 29mm or 32mm (please choose required size from dropdown box). For Rode poles, VDB and most other popular makes, the 32mm cradle is suitable. For smaller diameters of boom like Panamic, the 29mm is best. The way to check which is suitable for your boom is to measure the diameter of the second section.
The Boom-Buddy cradle is made from aluminium with ribbed rubber inserts to protect the boom and to hold it firmly in position. It makes an ideal accessory to any sound recordist's arsenal. The whole unit weighs only 175g.
We normally suggest using the second section of a 5 or 6 section boom as the point to rest in the Boom-Buddy cradle. To prevent damaging the boom, it’s not clamped into the cradle. The boom can be fitted into the Boom-Buddy in seconds without the need to re-rig. Any lighting stand with a 5/8” spigot can be used or a conventional mic stand.
Supplied with the Boom-Buddy is a fabric "Buddy-Bag" which slips over the end of the boom. It can take a camera battery or other weight to act as a counter balance if you are using the boom at full extension. By using a lighting stand, you can position your microphone at greater heights than with a conventional mic. stand/boom. The Boom-Buddy works in exactly the same way when used upside down. By inverting the Boom-Buddy and fixing it to a gaffer grip, it’s possible to suspend a boom from above. It can be attached to beams, scenery or even trees for situations where a stand would be impractical.
Since filing the design for patenting, Carlton Television, BBC Drama, BBC Music, The New York Film Academy, Metro Broadcast, The West of England University and many freelance sound recordists in the UK as well as customers in the USA, Germany, Finland, Portugal, New Zealand, Chile, Australia, Ireland and Canada have ordered Boom-Buddy’s.
These are not made in bulk, each Boom-Buddy is individually hand made and then powder coated for durability.
