The Role/Opportunity

We are looking to recruit a Kit Room Technician/Engineer to work within our Professional Repairs/Engineering Operation managing the inbound equipment destined for evaluations against repairs, for stocking as USED or ex-demonstration equipment or equipment being returned to us after a loan period with a customer.

The job focuses on the operational and functional testing of equipment and verification of its functionality and condition rather than the electronic or mechanical repair of the equipment. 

This is a full time role which is ideally suited to a self-motivated, dynamic and conscientious team player with a passion for best practice in customer service, a good level of technical/engineering competence in the broadcast equipment field, an interest in broadcast & video technologies and being a part of a progressive company. 

This role includes responsibility for the following (this list may not be exhaustive):

Assisting in the engineering repair operations

  • Evaluating all incoming Used/Ex-Demonstration equipment for suitability (for sale readiness)
  • Operational/functional testing of incoming (returned) loan equipment against specifications
  • Identifying accessories and ensuring they are included in the file
  • Identify any faults and managing the repair/escalation route
  • Preparing USED/Ex-DEMO equipment for sale including;
    • Cleaning/removal of stickers etc
    • Minor cosmetic refurbs
    • Liaising with Pro Repairs/Engineering for functional refurb work
  • Preparing returned loan equipment, including;
    • leaning/removal of stickers etc
    • Minor cosmetic refurbishment
    • Liaising with Pro Repairs/Engineering for functional refurb work
  • Communicating with Sales managers on the condition of the Evaluation, including
    • Advising on cost to refurb/repair (where appropriate)
    • Providing updates on timescales
  • Taking 360 photos (for Web display/sale – using our in-house 360 photo booth)
  • Creating Online Evaluation Forms
  • Spot checking New equipment
  • Booking equipment into CVP’s systems
  • Retesting stock prior to dispatch when required
