The original collapsible reflector offers total lighting control, both on location and in the studio.
It is hard to imagine how photographers and videographers made do before Visual Departures introduced Flexfill collapsible reflectors in 1982. Now a familiar tool of both studio and location shooting, Flexfill is simply indispensible when light is too contrasty for film or videotape. By "filling" shadows, a well-placed Flexfill fits such subjects within the limited brightness-recording range of film and tape.
Flexfill does much more than just reflect light, though. Now available in five sizes and nine surfaces, it is used by thousands of professional photographers, filmmakers, and videographers as a total lighting control system. That following has inspired many imitations, but none of them measure up to Flexfill.
Flexfill outperforms conventional reflectors in several ways. A flexible, riveted spring-steel rim allows any Flexfill to be folded into a circular package one-third its working size, for easy transportation and compact storage. That twist-and-overlap design also means it can be opened with a mere flick of the wrist.
Flexfill Reflectors are made to last, with tough, fade-free materials securely stitched to the fabric sleeve that surrounds their rims. Fabrics are all carefully inspected for any deviations, and when we give you the dimensions of a Flexfill, they represent its useful area. Cheap knockoff reflectors include the rim fabric in their measurements, which greatly reduces their effective area!
The original circular Flexfill is available in 20-, 38-, 48-, and 60-inch diameters. Each Flexfill comes with its own zippered nylon carrying pouch, is fully guaranteed by Visual Departures - and is made in America. If you'd rather have a rounded rectangular reflector, consider our Slimflex panel, measuring 28x58 inches. Like our regular Flexfill reflectors, Slimflex collapses into a small circle, for compact storage and transportation in its own zippered nylon pouch; and it can be mounted on lightstands with the same Flexfill Adjustable Holder that supports circular Flexfills.
One final note. With photographic equipment, as in much of life, you get what you pay for. You should know that Visual Departures was the first company to offer collapsible reflectors, and that we work hard to insure the highest quality in our products and the best service to the photographers who depend on them. Flexfill is the original collapsible reflector. Accept no substitutes!
